Enough is enough. Read this before joining a town

Oh Lord, I thank you for putting this intelligent woman on the internet.

Your 'lord' is fake. Gender is meaningless.

FAIL

PS - Stop sucking up to women like an Orion lapdog. It makes me and other intelligent women look down on you.

PPS - Rotating members in and out of town is normal. People who aren't in town can't get dueled. People who are in town can donate their money.

DOUBLE FAIL

Noobs gotta found his own town then talk.

DeletedUser

Triple fail! =)

Insulting someone's religion fails. I am an atheist myself, but you just don't do that, especially if you are trying to present yourself as an intelligent woman
Caps fails, try to stop screaming and people will listen to you more
Insults in general fail. We are all noobs here, the game is barely a month old.
Genders are different, not our problem you failed biology and evolutionary psychology...
Etc.

And we are not here to start a flame war, so I will do my best to ignore further insulting posts.

Yeah, we probably should, but first thing she'll do is bite my ear off :O

Sheesh, I used lord in a non-religious sense. Would you prefer I thank the mathematics that guide the universes?
And if you haven't noticed the internet does not have a large, nor healthy, population of women/ladies/womyn. Me mentioning her intelligence can be taken as sucking up but I was merely pointing out one of her possibly/probably over looked attributes. If you look down on me for this, I think you have never truly been appreciated for your famine qualities.

Rotating harms the sense of community that the town feature of this game is trying to promote. If one wants rapid expansion and growth I suggest one plays something else. Like Starcraft with resource cheats.

You fail for misunderstanding me and stereotyping me as a man/boy/internet person.

tl;dr version: You fail, and I'm offended.

DeletedUser

How about I play you in starcraft period.

The only people who get offended, are people with low spirituality. GG no re.

This is a really good post and helps the community. I don't want this games community to fall apart. That happened to RuneScape.

Nothing falls apart. Just some players like to play the game differently. There are some hardcore players in every game who try to make the best out of everything. It doesn't mean that they make less friends or disrupt communities. Just be sure you know the rules of the town before commiting yourself to it, so you can avoid situations like the OP got into.

Rose, your also townless, what happened?

I was building the town, I had the citizens waiting for the actual invite, town is now built and full, [Town name is Lincoln - named after the greatest Senator of the time .. I think he may become a President one day ;) ]

As a new player thank you for informing us on this. I think I will either just look for a town that welcomes you to stay and be a part of the community and work toward goals rather than use you up and kick you out.... or just work toward building my own town. I hate users.

Being new to the game and just starting a town in world 2. My town is brand new and I am the only member. I am trying to build it up myself and it is open to anyone that wants to join. But I dont understand the rotation policy, isnt it suppose to be built up by everyone equally, I mean if this was back in the horse and carriage days and we all met up and decided to go out west wouldnt we all be equal in trying to start up a social life. And then let the politics get involved later on when there is something to argue over.

As soon as I get the next stage of residencies up Casombra you will be welcome if you decide not to build your own town, I like people with heart and a community spirit.

Thank you Rose I would like that. Right now I am only level 4 but working hard to change that... well when my energy gets up there again haha.

Oh Lord, I thank you for putting this intelligent woman on the internet.

Not only intelligent but also kind!

[adds a gazillion other compliments]

I win :)

I am an intelligent woman, secure in my femininity and appreciative of the balance that makes this old world go around.

I will never look down on any compliments I receive, I don't consider them to be either "sucking up" or patronising. I accept them in the spirit in which they were given. I will spell out what I mean, there are both intelligent men and women on this planet, intelligence is not gender specific therefore a compliment or an agreement of a meeting of like minds, should be gracefully accepted, and that I intend to do.

So thank you very much guys, I appreciate your support and kind words.

To answer this quote below:

Gender may be meaningless to you, but we have to agree to disagree, if we were all one gender, then reproduction would be pretty boring. Social interaction would lose its sparkle and be combative .. I think you get my drift.

In reply to this point:

PPS - Rotating members in and out of town is normal. People who aren't in town can't get dueled. People who are in town can donate their money.

Your definition of normality and mine, already differ radically .. I am fairly certain there are no pre-defined definitions for "normal" in the context of your response. You don't have to be rotated to avoid being duelled, you can choose to wander wherever you will to work, you can choose to sleep in a nearbye town or your own, it keeps the dueller on his toes if he is targetting you.

"People who are in town can donate their money" .. yes of course, they can also bank sums up to and dependant upon the bank level, to do that they have to enter the town as a resident, where the dueller may have decided to camp out and wait anyway :)

.. oh .. and please don't answer on my behalf in future, I don't necessarily agree with all you say and think, and no doubt you disagree violently with my ideals, so I wouldn't presume to answer for you either.

Those that stated actions don't affect the community of a game either in the present or the long run, IMHO they do. As in life, every action you take causes ripple affects and shapes the future. Anyone that disputes this I believe has not played for very long an a game server, esp. of these types of games.

Topical example being, if one player utilises a legal game tactic that helps them or their group to 'win' the server/world, or get closer to doing so, other wannabe competitive players will copycat it in their own form or even often invent a similar strategy by their own creation.

Too many players, especially in a position of relative power, employing the exact same strategy will often lead to server stagnation and effect gameplay negatively for all involved.

If variety really is the spice of life, a server 6 months old with all kinds of different towns with different recruiting/member policies, different players free to act and test the game's limits as they choose, will inevitably be the most fun server to play.

Some people find enjoyment by getting to be the 'best', or the highest ranked player in the game on the leaderboards. Other people find enjoyment by socialising with other players. Others enjoy testing the games limits of gameplay more than anything else.

All I know from experience is, I and friends will always target a player/group that attempts to police a server, with equal prejudice to a player whose gameplay strategies we don't agree with.

Lamorra, I couldn't agree more, each to his own, and "Caveat emptor - Let the Buyer Beware" - this is why this post is so valuable, it brings the policies employed to the attention of the players and leaves them free to choose their own route.
