I don't think theye will add this feature anytime soon... But it's a good idea indeed. Sadly theye have a lot to do before this, more important stuff.

I don't ever use buddy lists, so I don't see the need.
However, I don't have an argument AGAINST the idea either, so I'd vote yes I guess.
