Lowest bid price at the market?

I recently tried to purchase a signature item at the market, but was rejected when I tried entering the purchase price and also even a higher price. As this was a seller from another town only stating the immediate purchase price; is the expected minimum bid then the 'out of town' purchase price?

If there's no minimum bid, the minimum bid is the immediate purchase price.
