As far as I know they can't be traded.

They can. Check the market. But it's a bad investment to pay $20,000 for something that is easily obtainable through a few hours of work.

After it goes thru the first stage, of being unbent I think it can no longer be traded. Same with the other hidden quests... that once the item has been modified from the original finding stage it can not be traded.
