I think, he means how to sell things that are in your inventory.
You have to go to a tailor, gunsmith or general store. There you take the thing, you wan to sale and drag'n'drop it to the inventory of the Trader.

Idk how to screencap it, but the best I've found so far are the black ragged boots, +4 Repairing and +4 Leadership, and the brown ragged shoes, +4 Swimming and +4 Construction. hah
