New worlds are always busy. w10 had no problems and it was opened 6 months after the previous world, so there had to be more demand for it than w11. It doesn't seem like the problem started until the last update.

Do the problems pre-date the new patch?

Personally, I've had difficulty logging in three separate times over the last 72 hours, but don't recall issues prior to that time.
