All weapons including your fist is used in duels with the exception of the left hand weapons.

So what guns is he talking about? If he's talking about the "Guns" that are listed in weststats then yes they are just for fort battles. If he's like a lot of people and is meaning what The West is classifying as "firearms" then they are used in duels.

Any weapon designated as a 'Gun' instead of 'Dueling Weapon (Firearm)" is used in fort battles. You can not use a Gun in regular duels and you can not use a Dueling Weapon (Firearm) in fort battles.

Guns = Fort Battles
Dueling Weapons (Firearm) = regular Duels

Except you can utilize the skills on a Dueling Weapon during fort battles, correct?

Any gear you have equipped counts towards your fort battle skills, even if it is a dueling weapon. So if you have a weapon that gives you +Aim that will count towards your skill points for fort battles.
