you chould add more then one coloer then.

every time the town "grow" like it do when it gets to 1500 and i beleve it is 4000 then they chould get a new color. it will then be easy to find a town that in range of what you look for.
500-1499 green
1500-3999 yellow

my system addresses 80% of these ideas already and is 1000% easier to code then the remaining 20%.. Comeup with somemore good ideas .. address the second half (the area with the problem see if we can come up with a solution (you know the part of contacting the right person in the town))

I just got to thinking.. morthy has modified his weststats code so that you do not physically leave the game anymore and maybe we could use that some way to add player stats to the message you send to the perspective town
